Bio
John Gourhan spent almost 30 years in the banking and investment banking business both on Wall Street and in San Francisco. He returned to Saint Mary's College, California in 2004 to complete his Masters of Fine Arts in creative writing.
His tolerant wife, Aleso, has been at his side for over forty years. He had been creating AVM and Skeleton Key tales for his two sons, Tom and Mike, and their friends, since they were toddlers. These stories will be offered soon for all children to enjoy.
John is the author of the upcoming Tommy Finnegan mystery stories, as well as two young adult novellas and has been experimenting with both TV and movie screenplays. Look for his most recent family drama, Mendocino Coast, coming soon.
John proudly served on the St. Mary's College advisory board for the MFA program in creative writing. He was an occasional lecturer at the University of California Haas School of Business on banking and derivatives. He is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mount Diablo CWC, and the MWA. John created and served on the board for the SCC Foundation, a charitable organization focusing on the local community. He served on the Board of Sequoyah Country Club and ran their Membership program for many years. He authored, designed, and published a centennial book for the Sequoyah Country Club.
John plays a passable game of golf, loves walking rivers and fly-fishing, plunks at the guitar, and has coached a myriad of sports. He also enjoys an occasional glass of wine and practicing the culinary arts. He is a New York Giants and Golden State Warriors fan.
